CWUG 1-22-2015

This week is CWUG’s first ever Chicago recycling drive!  We are doing something completely different with this one – it’s both a recycling drive AND tour of a Microsoft Certified Refurbisher.  This Thursday will be your opportunity to drop off old equipment and give it new life (or have it responsibly recycled).
About PCRR:
Founded in 2000, PC Rebuilders & Recyclers has a two-fold purpose of bridging the digital divide and supporting environmental responsibility through the refreshment of prematurely retired computer systems.  In doing so, we provide an easy way for corporations to dispose of their unwanted equipment as well as an inexpensive way for everyone to invest in technology.   PCRR was launched by Willie Cade in his basement on the north side of Chicago. Since then it has grown into a 30,000 square foot refurbishing facility. The program has placed computers in schools, non-profit organizations and need-based homes proving that limited funding does not preclude access to technology. Want to know more: www.pcrr.com.
When and Where:
                Thursday Jan 22nd 2015
                4:00pm to 6:30pm
                ADDRESS: 4734 W. Chicago Ave
                Chicago, IL 60651
                PHONE: 773-545-7575
How will this work:
You will arrive at PCRR, please note you cannot park on the North side of street from 4pm – 6pm. But you will be able to pull up to the large garage door and there will be someone to help you unload your equipment into our warehouse. Don’t worry snow or shine we will be able to collect equipment as our facility is all indoors. Parking can be found on the south side of the street and there is an extra lot of over flow parking. Once you have parked head to the front door and we will show you to the meeting area.
Electronics Recycling:
We take any unwanted computer related equipment. Your hard drives will go through our digital data destruction process and a full report is available for only $10. For more information about our digital data destruction:http://www.pcrr.com/responsible-recycling/data-desctruction/. We will try to reuse as much equipment as possible and anything we cannot will be responsibly recycled. Below is a complete list of items we accept.
